Job Centres In Kent - Jobcentres
The key objectives of Job Centres are to:
- Increase the effective supply of
labour by promoting work as the best form of welfare and helping
unemployed and economically inactive people move into employment
- Work towards parity of outcomes for
ethnic minority customers
- Pay customers the correct benefit at
the right time and protect the benefit system from fraud, error and
abuse
- Provide high-quality and demand-led
services to employers, which help fill job vacancies quickly and
effectively with well-prepared and motivated employees
- Help people facing the greatest
barriers to employment to compete effectively in the labour market
and move into and remain in work
- Improve continuously the quality,
accessibility and delivery of services to all customers
- Ensure that people receiving working
age benefits fulfil their responsibilities while providing
appropriate help and support for those without work
- Increase Jobcentre Plus overall
productivity, efficiency and effectiveness
Current Jobcentre Plus programmes and services include:
- The Jobcentre Work Programme can help you prepare for, find and stay in work. If you're already working part-time, it could help you to increase your hours
- Help with drug or alcohol problems that prevent you working
- Work schemes and programmes for disabled people
- Travel to Interview Scheme and In Work Credit
- Employment Zones - Practical support to help long-term unemployed people get back to work if you live in certain areas of the country
- Jobcentre Work Trials and Employment on Trial - A trial in an actual job vacancy and encouragement to try a new job without affecting your entitlement to benefit
- Programme Centres - Help with job applications along with practical advice on looking for a job, keeping a job and going back to work
- New Deal - Programmes to help unemployed people find work
- Flexible working opportunites, part time,full time and weekend jobs
- European Social Fund - Training, employment and other opportunities if you are unemployed or have not worked for a long time
