About The University

In common with most of the higher education employers, vacancies tend to be more plentiful at the end of term/academic year than at the beginning. Most institutions expect to have vacancies filled for the start of term. However with organisations as big as the University of Greenwich, University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University you can expect some recruitment to take place on a rolling basis.

The University began life as Woolwich Poly, one of the oldest such institutions in the UK. Woolwich evolved over time into Thames Polytechnic which expanded through the 1970s and 1980s until it was granted University status in the early 1990s.

Today the University is highly regarded as a teaching institution and according to their own website they are rated by the Sunday Times as London's leading university for teaching excellence.

The teaching activities at the Medway campus have a strong emphasis on business, enterprise and Engineering, this is obviously reflected in any lecturing vacancies that might be published. Administrative, general and technical jobs are much more generic.

The Medway Campus

Set in the Dockyard, tens of millions of pounds have been spent upgrading the Edwardian facilities. The site includes The splendid Pilkington Building, The Centre for Sport & Exercise Science, The Drill Hall, The Medway School of Pharmacy, The Wolfson Centre, The Natural Resources Institute and much more. How To Apply To The University Of Greenwich

There are generally two application options dependent on the particular vacancy. Either you will be asked to download an application form or to complete an online application. You'll generally have to register on the system in order to complete an online application; this does have the advantage of being able to store your details for future applications.

The application is designed to be electronic however if you are unable to apply online it may be possible to be sent a 'paper' application pack. Call 020 8331 8982 to discuss further.

Generally speaking if the closing date of any vacancy is just two weeks after its original date of publication the University would expect to fill the post from the resident UK/EEA workforce.
