The Kent Website since 1999
After seveal years of recession it finally looks like employment prospects are picking up in Kent. We're seeing more jobs being advertised on a like for like basis when compared to last year; but the expectation is that things will improve even more for job seekers in 2015. We've been publishing Medway job features for well over a decade, in that time user feedback has been very important in improving our content. If you have something you'd like to share or wish to submit a local employer for a free listing use our contact details at the bottom of the page. You can't talk about employment in the Medway towns without thinking about the Thames Gateway regeneration project. Medway's share of the investment is expected to reach £1 billion by 2020. It's also planned to increase the population of Medway to around 280,000 during this time. Directly and indirectly many employment opportunities are going to be connected to regeneration projects like: Medway Waterfront, Gillingham Town Centre Development, Rochester Riverside, Chatham Town Centre And Waterfront, Strood Riverside, Temple Waterfront and the Medway Gate. A short feature written by a local jobseeker.
The popular view is that Medway is a riverside conurbation comprising; Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham and Rainham. But much of the area under the control of the Medway Unitary Authority is in fact rural in nature. Employment opportunities in places like: Allhallows, Cliffe, Cooling, Cuxton, Frindsbury, Halling, High Halstow, Hoo, Isle of Grain, St Mary and Stoke may be very different to those in the urban areas. From an employment point of view the education sector is growing in importance, in recent years Medway has seen the development of the Universities at Medway concept. A project bringing together: the University of Greenwich, the University of Kent and Christ Church University on a unified site. These are not exhaustive listings and local employers are welcome to submit their details to us via email.
