About Magnet

Magnet started life nearly a century ago and it is said that it was named after a horse. This well established manufacturer and retailr of kitchens was acquired by the Swedish Nobia group in 2001. The company has just under 2,000 employees working in: the network of over 185 showrooms, the main support and supply centres in Darlington and Keighley or one of the divisional offices. There are three strands to the business; Magnet (retail sales), Magnet Trade (trade sales) and Interior Solutions (third party sales), these three strands supported by central and divisonal departments. Many showrooms service retail and trade customers but effectively keep them separate by dividing the retail space.

Working For Magnet Retail

At their name suggests, Magnet Retail designs, manufactures and sells quality fitted kitchens to the general public. The employment opportunities in branch are: Branch and Showroom Management, Design Sales Assistant, Retail Sales Designer, Showroom Advisor and Branch Administrator.

Magnet Trade Jobs

There is a specific Trade kitchen collection with about 20 ranges, a full choice of accessories and appliances. The Trade business also offers joinery products and a made to order service on windows and stairs. Roles in Magnet Trade include: Branch and Trade management roles, Representatives, Account Managers, Kitchen Designers Sales and Warehouse Staff.

Interior Solutions - Support Centre - Divisional Teams

Most vacancies occur in Darlington where the corporate functions are located as well as manufacturing and warehousing. The divisional teams based in: Welwyn Garden City, Gloucester and Lichfield support both Retail and Trade groups.
