The recently launched www.supply2.gov.uk website advertises more than 7,000 lower value, typically under £100,000 local and national Government contract opportunities and could prove very useful to Kent companies, says Business Link. Companies can visit the site, free of charge, to find what contracts are on offer, to receive email alerts matching the products or services their business offers to new contracts becoming available and, by taking advantage of the free online registration process, to publish a supplier profile promoting their business. Government buyers visiting www.supply2.gov.uk can create and post contract opportunities, search for suppliers registered on the site and link their existing online procurement to it. Tony Buddin, Marketing Director at Business Link, said: "Traditionally it has been hard for small businesses to find out about, and exploit successfully, opportunities to work with Government, now that barrier has been removed and, for the first time, smaller businesses can not only access thousands of Government contracts but also register their details to ensure their company can be seen by hundreds of public sector procurers." Tony Buddin continued: "With free online online guidance to help businesses compete for the work, you do not have to be a procurement specialist to get the maximum benefit from this new website. And the proof of the pudding lies in the fact that more than 10,000 suppliers have already registered." More information:
