Champagne prices are generally linked
to the quality and style of the product, the reputation of the
house, the year of vintage and the popularity of a particular
product. The starting point for many Champagne drinkers in
non-vintage (NV). NV is typically a mixture of Champagne from
several different years, ideally blended to provide a consistent
style. Vintage Champagne is produced in a specific year, usually
only undertaken when the product is of a particularly high standard.
This naturally leads vintage champagne to be more expensive than non
vintage.
There are nearly always Champagne
bargains to be found both online as well as in the high street, the
beauty of shopping online is that you can check all the latest
offers from the comfort of your home. Shopping around is essential,
discounts can be as high as 60% so the savings are potentially huge.
Like all wine, preference is very
much a matter of taste and it's not always the case that the more
money you spend the more you're going to enjoy it. Our advice is to
shop around and find out what you actually like the taste of before
you invest in particularly expensive brands. If you're new to
Champagne start with non-vintage and move onto vintage, if and when
