How to serve Moet And
Chandon Champagne:
Everything about Moët
& Chandon champagne is sensuous. But before you warm to the idea
of drinking it, you must chill it. Bubble-buffs will tell you it
must be served between six and eight degrees centigrade. However,
plunging a bottle into a champagne bucket half full of water for
half an hour will do the trick.
Remove the chilled Moët
from the ice bucket and wipe the bottle dry. Slightly tilt the
bottle and carefully remove the wire muzzle and foil. Place your
thumb firmly on the top of the cork and twist the bottle - never the
cork - to gently ease the cork out of the bottle with a sigh or a
whisper - never anything so brash as a pop!
Wipe the top of the
bottle and pour the Moët & Chandon carefully into sparkling
clean, clear glass flutes until no more than two-thirds full and
return the bottle to the ice-bucket. Coupes or ‘saucers’ should
never be used as they allow the fine bubbles to escape too quickly.
A standard bottle should fill up to six flutes yet a magnum not only
fills 12 flutes, but is also the optimum size to allow the champagne
to mature slowly, thus providing a touch more finesse. However, if
you are serving a nebucchadnezzar (120 flutes and man-size) chances
are you’ll need help in pouring!
Moet
And Chandon is so highly regarded because it's a classic Champagne,
the taste is crisp and slightly fruity, providing a reliable,
delightful experience every time. The quality of the product
compares favorably with more expensive 'elite' Champagnes. The
consistency of Moet is one of the reasons why it's one of the most
popular bubbly brands in the world.
