Thames River Trips - River Cruises On The Thames
Thames River Trips - River Cruises On The ThamesMore great places to visit in Kent - Get all the Yourcounty updates free to you mailbox by signing up for the Kent Review Thames River Trips - River Cruises On The Thames(Reviewed for Yourcounty by Patricia) For a really good Family day out why not take a trip up the river Thames from Gravesend to Greenwich where you can have a 2 hour stay, or alternatively remain on board and go further up the river as far as Chelsea, time permitting. If you go ashore at Greenwich you can go to the National Maritime Museums, the Royal Naval College and the Cutty Sark the last of the famous tea clippers, all well worth a visit, but if you stay aboard and carry on cruising up the Thames you will see all the many changes that have taken place over the years, some good, some not so good. You will pass under the QE2 Bridge which is a wondrous sight from the river. For people that travel over the bridge regularly you only really appreciate what a great achievement it is when you see it from the river. As you go further upstream you pass; Docklands, Canary Wharf, The City of London and HMS Belfast, ducking under the famous Tower Bridge. At Westminster Bridge you will see the Houses Of Parliament and Big Ben. This trip has to be one of the simplest ways to explore so much of rich British heritage in a very short space of time. As you journey up the Thames there is a very good and useful commentary so you can be sure not to miss any of the most important landmarks, children will love it. Disabled people are welcome but the toilets are not suitable for wheelchairs. For more information and details of prices and timetables call the Lower Thames & Medway Passenger Boat Co Ltd on 01732 353448 during office hours. More details here.
