Less than an hour’s drive from Calais, Berck-sur-Mer is a bracing encounter with the sea. With seven and a half miles of fine sandy beach, it is a haven of peace. Europe’s biggest kite festival takes place in Berck-sur-Mer in April. The skies come alive with the world’s best and most exciting kites.
