The Kent Website since 1999
This link for the current Kent Restaurant Review, recent reviews are linked below. If you have had a particularly good experience dining out in the county recently let us know!
There are a huge number of restaurants in Kent and they cater for almost every taste and budget. Our reviews are regularly updated but we cannot guarantee that the detail in any review is completely up to date when you read it. If you need to confirm any information contact the restaurant before you set out to visit the establishment.
Well what's in an opinion? We are currently restructuring our restaurant reviews, we aim to republish those that are relevant, incorporate more of the extensive user feedback that we have received recently and weed out those features that are no longer relevant or restaurants that have ceased trading. In the meantime if you'd like to suggest your favorite restaurant for inclusion drop us a line with all the relevant details.
So when is best, best? One of the things we have learned in the fourteen years that we have been publishing local restaurant reviews is that there is no one factor that will make a restaurant 'the best' in everyone's eyes. Quality of food is very much a subjective value, for example a highly regarded restaurant may have a poor reputation for vegetarian alternatives, acclaimed restaurants can be regarded as overprices, excellent food might not be accompanied with an apposite ambience. As such we strive to provide a range of restaurants from all parts of the county.
Our full directory of Kent restaurants will be re-published in the autumn, in the meantime if you'd like to suggest somewhere for inclusion we'd love to hear from you. Take a look at the review summaries below for a flavour of the restaurants we have featured in the recent past:
Apeksha provide a contemporary Indian dining experience offering something stylish in both menu and ambience. This is one of the most highly regarded curry houses in Canterbury, an area with more than its fair share of restaurants.
Chapter One have been offering an excellent dining experience for many years, the stylish setting and excellent food consistently meet if not exceed our expectations.
Above the fish market in Whitstable, overlooking the fishing boats with views across the harbour, gulls calling in earshot, the small of a fishing harbour in your nostrils you'll find the Crab And Winkle. The most perfect setting foe a seafood restaurant anywhere?
One of the most popular restaurants in Deal, Dunkerleys is open from 8am every day, enjoy sea views from the terrace, within a stone's throw of the beach.
Gavin Gregg's hold a couple of AA rosettes which are given to "Excellent restaurants that aim for and achieve higher standards and better consistency. A greater precision is apparent in the cooking, and there will be obvious attention to the selection of quality ingredients."
The Giggling Squid is one of the fastest growing restaurant concepts in the region. They offer 'Thai Tapas' in chic surroundings, the latest Kent restaurants will be in Sevenoaks (due to open in August) and Maidstone (late autumn).
Haxted Mill offers diners great food and a 15th century restaurant with many original features including a beamed interior. When weather permits there is a delightful open terrace. Terrific food and an excellent wine list.
Tunbridge Wells's Hotel du Vin & Bistro has been consistently wowing diners for some time, the restaurant is set in one of the landmark building of the town, a Grade II listed sandstone mansion built just after 1750.
La Tasca Kitchen is getting a growing reputation in the Tunbridge Wells area, this means you may need to book at busy times.
Osteria Posillipo still providing the best best pizzas in Kent if the latest feedback is anything to go by. There are now three restaurants in East Kent each providing a great authentic Italian dining experience. This is really one for the food lovers.
If you've tried a local restaurant recently why not share your experience with our users? We can't always publish everything we receive but we also take user feedback into account when publishing content. Kent has some great places to eat, something for every taste and budget, we aim to keep this page relevant and up to date but if you think we need to change something please let us know.
