Brenchley Garden Band Season - Maidstone

Next Sunday will kick off a 10-week extravaganza of jazz, brass, military, rock and pop music, when Maidstone Borough Council’s annual band season comes to town.

The band season opens on Sunday June 27 with the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment Band.  It will close with wartime favourites by Micky Driver on August 29.

The rest of the line-up looks like this:

  • Sunday, June 27 – Princess of Wales Royal Regiment Band (Military)
  • Saturday, July 3 – Pete’s Corner (Jazz)
  • Sunday, July 4 – Maidstone Youth Music Society (Jazz)
  • Saturday, July 10 – Maidstone Winds (Classical)
  • Sunday, July 11 – Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs (Skank)
  • Sunday, July 18 – Kent Police Band (Brass)
  • Sunday, July 25 – Billy Wears Dresses (Pop)
  • Sunday, August 1 – Goosebumps (Swing)
  • Sunday, August 8 – Haley Sisters (Country)
  • Sunday, August 15 – Hot Rats (Irish Folk)
  • Sunday, August 22 – Samba Pelo Mar (Samba)
  • Sunday, August 29 – Micky Driver (Wartime Favourites)

The weekly event, run by the council’s arts development team, is free to attend. Concerts start at 3pm, finishing at 4.30pm. Deckchairs are available for hire for £1.
