The Kent Website since 1999
We expect to publish details from the 2014 programme in the Spring.
The Broadstairs Folk Week was founded by Jack Hamilton and friends in 1965. For many it's the focal point of the Broadstairs summer. Thousands of people visit the town during the week and the volunteer work force is now approaching 200. The event is run by a charity who's main purpose is the continuation of event as an integrated part of the town's life.
Performance is the main feature of the folk week but participation for young and old through workshops and other events is emphasised. The Craft Fair in Victoria Gardens is a really big deal and attracts thousands in it's own right.
Visit the Broadstairs Folk Week website for all the listings and all other information. Our pick of the acts announced for the 2013 programme include: Capercaillie, Dervish, Peggy Seeger’s and many more (more information to follow).
