15/05/08 Clydesdale Bank Appointment - Thames Gateway Senior Business Partner

Clydesdale Bank’s commitment to supporting businesses in Thames Gateway has seen the appointment of a banking expert with more than a quarter of a century’s experience.

Jeremy Brett, aged 45, born in Bromley and living in Hextable, has joined Clydesdale Bank’s Thames Gateway team as a Senior Business Partner.

He joins from RBS Commercial where he worked for five years and headed up the Property and Healthcare team at its Crossways office within sight of the Dartford River Crossing. Prior to that he worked for NatWest for 22 years.

Announcing the appointment, Paul Saunders, Managing Partner of Clydesdale Bank’s Thames Gateway team, said: “Jeremy’s local knowledge, not only of the business community, but also his understanding of the potential the area has for development and economic success, means he will be a great asset to the team.”

Jeremy Brett’s experience has been largely working with Kent companies with a turnover of between £1m and £50m per year.

Jeremy Brett added: “Increasingly businesses are looking for a bank that can add value, understand the economic and business environment and at the same time make quick decisions in terms of funding. I believe that Clydesdale Bank is best placed to deliver what businesses in Thames Gateway need.

“In terms of the area’s outlook for the future, there’s already been considerable progress with the opening of Ebbsfleet International being the most recent piece of infrastructure to come on stream. However, what it needs more than anything if it is to thrive is an end to the delays on delivering sites for commercial and residential development which will ultimately attract more businesses to the area.”
