High-flying Ashford garage D&D Autos has picked up another award – and this time it’s national.

The family business, based at Moat Way, Orbital Park, has been named Garage of the Year by the well-respected Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF).

“This is a very special award because it means we have been judged by our peers and picked out as the best there is,” said delighted business owner Derek Pestridge.

The IAAF works on behalf of independent garages and aims “to serve, strengthen and promote the independent automotive aftermarket on behalf of its members, to the consumer’s benefit”.

“The award was based on the quality of service we offer our customers,” said Derek, who added that it was “a real accolade” to have won the award.

The garage, which moved to its purpose-built new premises in 2009 so that it could offer customers a wider range of services, was also highly commended in the chamber’s Business of the Year category in 2010.
