17/04/08 Landlords Could Be Paying Too Much Tax - Free event

Property owners and landlords who would like to find out more about taxation are being encouraged to attend a free event co-ordinated by the West Kent Landlords Partnership. It will be held at the Town Hall, Royal Tunbridge Wells on Thursday 24 April from 6.30pm.

The event is open to landlords from across West Kent and will be chaired by Cllr Catherine Mayhew, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Community Access for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. The evening will begin with a presentation from Bob Churchill, tax expert from accountants Day, Smith and Hunter. Additional presentations will be given by:

· Local Housing Benefits Teams
· National Landlords Association
· National Federation of Residential Landlords

The West Kent Landlords Partnership, organisers of this event, is a partnership between Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, Sevenoaks District Council, the National Landlords Association and National Federation of Residential Landlords.

Richard Powell, Director of Services to the Community for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, said:

‘The special event for landlords and property owners will focus on taxation and the changes arising from the Budget 2008. With free parking after 6pm in Crescent Road Car Park and refreshments provided, this is a convenient opportunity that should not be missed.’

For further information or to book a place at the event, please contact Kathy Alcock at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council on 01892 554275 or e-mail: kathy.alcock@tunbridgewells.gov.uk
