Bush Blackbird & Thrush, Pubs In East PeckhamA typical Kentish inn in a building with a long pub tradition, set just outside the Village of East Peckham. The pub is divided in two, the bar area is on your left hand side as you go through the front door, to the right is the dining area. The two rooms are separated by a large brick fireplace and the main bar is lengthwise against the far wall, facing you as you enter. A consistent selection of Shepherd Neame cask ales is available; Masterbrew, Spitfire and Bishop Finger plus the usual range of lagers and bottled beers. The casks are set into the main wall behind the bar so the ale is poured straight into the glass. The house is listed in the latest Good Beer Guide Food is served everyday except Monday, with a curry menu on Wednesday and a roast menu on Thursday and Sunday. There are plans to even 'grow their own' vegetables in part of the pub’s large gardens in 2011. The 'Bush' has a quiz night, runs bat and trap and darts team and there is a skittles alley available for hire. The pub has a huge open Beer Garden. A great pub to visit with kids, particularly in warm weather. A large attractive garden, reasonably priced restaurant and good beer will ensure we'll return. Bush Blackbird & Thrush
