The Angel - Pubs In Addington Green - Country Pubs In Kent

The Angel is set back from the Trottiscliffe Road just off the A20 near West Malling. 

Entering the building from the main front door you'll find the the bar area is almost immediately in front of you, with one dining area to your right and a second dining room in a converted stable block to your left.

The pub was complete refurbished when it was recently taken over by The Wellie Boot and the whole interior is designed to look like a traditional Kentish Inn with; low beams an open fireplace and a riot of hops. Traditional values also extend to the entertainment, there aren't fruit machines, a dartboard or pool table and the only music you are likely to find will be live. Performers are booked at the pub most Wednesdays and Fridays in addition to other ad-hoc entertainment (ring in advance for details). These events are very popular so booking a table in advance is a good idea.

The usual range of beers, wines and spirits can be found at the Angel but food is the area where they particularly excel.

The Snack/Bar menu includes:

• Fresh fish dishes

• Tiger prawns with garlic, onions and peppers

• Chicken Taco

• Pork and leek sausages, bubble and squeak with onion gravy

• Sandwiches

The main restaurant menu is too extensive to list here but Crab Tartlets and Pan Fried Duck Breast were just two dishes available at the time of writing. The Angel also runs a Pasta Night every Thursday. The main restaurant is non smoking and although children are welcomed in the restaurant they are not permitted in the bar.

When I visited the service was excellent. I will be going back and I also hope to try the food and review the restaurant and some stage in the near future.
