The Artichoke Chartham, Shepherd Neame PubsFor many more Kent pubs click here, the current pub review is here. If Kentish ale and historic inns are your idea of pub heaven the Artichoke is for you. A 13th century timber framed building housing not just a bar but also a glass topped well that doubles as a table in the small dining area. Open fires are also a feature of the interior. The luchtime menu is made of straightforward pub favorites (sandwiches, fish and chips, sausages, home made soup) the quality is good and the portions generous. Food in the evening is more ambitious and the Artichoke is well worth a visit for dinner. There's a small car park opposite the pub and according to its website the Artichoke has disabled access. Open untill 1am at the weekends, it is closed on Mondays.
