The Kent Website since 1999
This is a beautiful, traditional Kent pub on the historic Pilgrims Way nestling in the Downs. A welcoming Inn decorated with hops; lots of bare floorboards, exposed beams and a lovely fireplace. The building was first used as a public house in the 1750s. Despite the accomodation and food side of the business still operates as an authentic pub.
It's a gimmick free establishment so you won't find much in the way of juke boxes or fruit machines. Good selection of beer and wine plus all the expected beverages. Excellent reputation for food, full restaurant review to folloe, if you've eaten here we'd welcome your thoughts. Live music was a feature two nights a week, not sure if this is still taking place.
Feedback is one of the features that adds value to a pub review, so if you have recent experience of this establishment or would like to recommend your own 'local' for a listing drop us a line. Click here for many more Kent pubs, or the current Kent pub review.
Six en suite bed and breakfast rooms, accomodation described as luxury. The local area has a network of footpaths and bridle paths and is widely used by cyclists, ramblers and horse riders taking advantage of some of Britain's most beautiful countryside. At the time of writing dogs are welcome on a lead and the Inn is open all day, all week, all year! Ample parking in the large car park.
