The Humphrey Bean - Pubs In Tonbridge - Country Pubs In KentThis Wetherspoon's pub is in the centre of Tonbridge, facing the High Street. A long spacious pub with a no smoking area to the front and a pleasant courtyard garden to the rear with views of the river and castle. The building is the former main post office and was renovated at a cost of £1.25 million. The pub is named after a former landlord of a pub which stood on the same site about 100 years ago. Entering the building you will find a long bar to your right. There is a wide range of drinks including real ales. At the time of our visit Abbot, Moreland Speckled Hen and Shepherd Neame Spitfire were all on tap. There's always offer on drinks and beer here can be up to £1 a pint cheaper than other pubs in the town. The typical Wetherspoon's menu is available, good value food but lacking any personal touch.
