The Imperial Arms - Pubs In Chislehurst - Country Pubs In KentThe Imperial Arms links Chislehurst to one of the most famous names in history, Bonaparte! The future Napoleon IV studied at Woolwich and lived in Chislehurst, his body was brought back and buried in the village after his death in 1879. The pub has been in existence since 1862 and was renamed the Imperial Arms in 1873. The pub can be found in that steep back street of Chislehurst called Old Hill within walking distance of the station and the renown Caves. The interior is open plan with a central bar in the middle of the building. It looks and feels like a traditional pub, serves reasonably priced hot and cold pub grub, and frequently has live music on Sunday evenings. Real ales are served and the selection of beers available is good, my pint of Courage Best was excellent. The pub has a regular clientele, the lack of parking in the general area can be a problem at busy times if coming by car. One of many good pubs in the area and well worth a visit. The Imperial Arms
