The Muggleton Inn - Pubs In Maidstone - Country Pubs In Kent

A Weatherspoon's pub slap bang in the centre of Maidstone. A large attractive building with a long downstairs bar and a pleasant upstairs/balcony bar, non smoking area and a small heated courtyard to the rear.

I associate Wetherspoon pubs with reliable, value for money drinks, reasonably priced pub food and no loud music. The Muggleton met the criteria comfortably, we quaffed a couple of pints of Abbott Ale, there was a competitively priced menu and you could hear what the person next to you was saying without difficulty.

The beer on offer included: Theakestones. Abbot Ale, Spitfire, Fosters, John Smiths, Guinness, Stella, Carling and Blackthorne. Big selection of spirits, cocktails and soft drinks.

Business is brisk during the day but can get really busy during the evening, particularly Friday and Saturday. The staff and service is efficient but impersonal, the food is middling to good and I've never had a bad pint in there.
