The Royal Hotel - Pubs In Deal - Country Pubs In Kent

A former Camra Kent Pub of the Year - a title that that says everything you need to know about the quality of the Real Ale available at this Free House. They serve a wide range of Goacher's bitter including the increasing popular 'Shipwrecked'. The pub stocks the usual range of beverages for those of you not into the CAMRA scene.

The pub could be described as traditional and isolated. You'll find it down on the Faversham Creek near Oare Marshes. Forget public transport you'll need a car or taxi to visit this pub. The good news is that it's well worth the effort.

The interior of the hostelry has lots of exposed beams, open fires and many original features, it also boasts a lack of pool tables and fruit machines. The welcome is warm and it's particularly picturesque in the summer with gardens right on the water.

The Shipwright's runs a good menu from Wednesday through Sunday from 12.00 to 14.30. Food is also served in the evenings from Wednesday to Saturday. The pub is reasonably quiet lunchtimes in the winter but can get very busy in the summer and weekends.
