The Walmer Castle - Pubs In Deal - Country Pubs In Kent

The Walmer Castle Pub in South Street, Deal offers a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Fairly quiet on weekdays, it is often transformed at the weekend, offering a diverse range of activities and events – among these are monthly drum ‘n’ bass sessions, and house nights when the pub is usually packed. Sunday early evenings are reserved for generally excellent live music and the pub also has a DJ twice a month.

The Walmer Castle caters to a range of customers, there is no children’s area (except the beer garden) but drinkers can indulge in a game of chess or drafts, surf the net or sip a cappuccino in the aptly named "sci-fi Bar" where a huge range of sci-fi memorabilia adorns the walls, from movie stills to model Daleks. The slight emphasis on the technological should not deter any fans of the traditional as the Walmer Castle manages to combine this successfully with a large and cozy dark wood interior while still retaining a modern feel to the pub.

Hungry folks can munch pub snacks or freshly made sandwiches which are served all day, with simple fillings such as ham or beef and vegetarian options also available. Other entertainment on offer includes big screen TV with live football and a jukebox.

The Walmer Castle is an interesting and original pub offering lots to do other than drink. Anybody looking for entertainment, or alternatively a wide range of drinks, for a night out should find this pub to be a pretty good drinking experience.
