The Windmill - Pubs In Hollingbourne - Country Pubs In KentHollingbourne is a village in two halves, The Windmill is in Eyhorne Street at the lower end of the village. Eyhorne Street runs right through the village and The Windmill can be found opposite the Post Office adjacent to the Village Hall. There is some car parking to the rear and a little on-street parking but the road is quite narrow and it does get congested at busy times. There is a beer garden to the rear. The Windmill is a medium sized inn, situated in a beautiful old building with exposed beams and open fires. The pub had a good selection of ales and beverages when I visited including: Breakspear, Flowers, King & Barnes Sussex, Master Brew and Boddingtons. Heineken, Stella and Strongbow and the slight less well known Eliot's Hot Mulled Wine were also on tap. Like many of the village pubs in the area, hot food is served at both lunchtimes and the evenings. The menu is of a high quality with main dishes like Lamb Shank, Roquefort Fillet and Monkfish. It's certainly not pub grub and the prices reflect this with main courses starting at a little over £10. The service is good and the welcome warm, the pub does get busy at the weekend and some evening, if you want to eat at these times you'd be wise to book in advance. The pub shuts on weekday afternoons. I would go back again both to drink and eat. The Windmill
