An established restaurant on
the Broadway serving: Greek, Cypriot and Mediterranean style cuisine; good
food in a really friendly environment. An ideal place for a work or family
outing, children are made welcome (there is a dedicated children's
menu). The restaurant is owned by chef Jan
Fahri who is on hand to ensure the food and service lives up to
Cyprus Village's growing reputation.
Tourists to Greece and Turkey
will recognise many of the dished on the menu; Calamari, Mititey Kofte,
Hummus, Taramasalata, Moussaka and Borek for example. Those seeking more
familiar fare can try a steak, fresh mussels in white wine and cream, lamb
steak with honey and rosemary sauce, chicken breast stuffed with feta
cheese and spinach or oven baked sea bass.
If you can't make up your mind
what to have, try the Meze, it's kind of like Tapas, a range of different
starters with chicken and lamb to follow. Be warned it's not for someone
with a small appetite.
We had Mititey Kofte (spicy
meatballs in sauce) and Borek (spinach and feta in pastry) to start
followed by a grilled leg of lamb and chicken kebabs. With Turkish Coffee
and a bottle of house red we spent just under £50 for two unhurried
hours.
