Haxted Mill or The Haxted Mill Riverside Brasserie & Bar to give it its full name, is an exceptionally picturesque restaurant serving great food. The beamed interior of the 15th century Mill is complimented by a superb open terrace where you can enjoy a candlelit dinner in the summer months (with the indulgence of the British Weather). 

It's definitely an up-market venue and one of the best locations in the county for a romantic dinner for two. Booking in advance is always advisable particularly on high days or holidays or if your visit coincides with a big meeting at nearby Lingfield races.

Check with the Mill to see when the next live Jazz session is going to take place.

Don't expect much change out of £100 for a two course meal for two with all the trimmings, but if you want to treat a special friend to a memorable evening look no further. The food is just great with vegetarian alternatives but if you have particular requirements ring in advance.

• Char-Grilled Whole fish of the Day
• Pan Fried Fillet of lemon Sole
• Pan Roasted Breast of Duck, Sauce Bigarade
• Pan Fried 6 oz. Fillet Steak, Wild Mushroom, Baby Onions
• Roasted Loin of Red Highland Deer

If you are going here for the first time take a moment to look up the directions from the website, as a rough guide it's about 10 minutes off junction 6 on the M25.
