World’s Wonder Restaurant, Warehorne, AshfordThe World's Wonder sits near the Romney Marsh between Hamstreet and Tenterden. The building has a fine tradition as an inn going back over 100 years. Although a pub, the World's Wonder has an excellent reputation for food in general and home made pies in particular. At the time of writing the pie selection encompassed: Fish Pie - Rabbit & Bacon Pie - Steak & Red Wine Pie - Chicken & Mushroom Pie - Minty Lamb Pie - Steak & Kidney Pie - Cottage Pie - Provencal Pie. The World's Wonder was a finalist in the Kent Restaurant awards in 2009. Food is sourced locally and cooked on site. Much of the free range meat and poultry is supplied by local farmers/butchers. If you have a sweet tooth you might be interested in the Pudding Nights, A carvery followed by a choice of 20 or so sweets, the price (at the time of writing) was £17.95. The choice is likely to include all or most of the following: Sticky Toffee Pudding, Tropical Trifle, Strawberry Mousse, Lemon Posset, White Choc Cheesecake, Syrup Sponge, Spotted Dick, Bread Pudding, Pecan Pie, Rhubarb Fool, Pineapple Upsidedown pudding, Rum 'n' Raisin Choc Brownie, Ginger Cream Roll, Brandy Choc Charlotte, Chocolate and Amaretto Torte, Gin and Tonic Jelly, Key Lime Pie, Baked Bramley Apple.
