Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery is inviting artists from Kent and Sussex to create new artwork for an exciting open exhibition to be held in September and October 2008. The theme of the exhibition is ‘roots’ and it is hoped that the theme will be interpreted as widely as possible.

Local artists taking part will be asked to consider:

• Where are your roots?
• What keeps you rooted?
• Is it a person, a place or an object?
• Is it something from the past or looking toward your future?
  

Richard Powell, Director of Services to the Community, said:

‘We are hoping to see work in a range of sizes, styles and media. Painting, collage, print, textile or photography - originality and creativity are as important as technical ability.’
