25/01/12 New Recycling Site For Westree Court - Maidstone
Maidstone Borough Council residents can now recycle their glass bottles, jars and textiles using the new recycling containers at Westree Court. Glass bottles and jars need to be colour sorted in to the correct container; green, brown and clear. Please do not put any coloured glass in with the clear. If you have a blue glass bottle please recycle it with the green. Recycling them would save the CO2 equivalent of taking 1,300 cars off the road for a year. Cabinet Member for the Environment, Cllr Marion Ring said: “It is great news that we have more recycling containers for more material to be recycled. This will save valuable resources, and increase the amount of waste recycled.” The new charity textile bank will provide much needed funds to the Samaritans. For more information on your recycling services and full list of all Recycling Sites throughout the Borough, please email the customer services team at customerservices@maidstone.gov.uk, call 01622 602600 or visit www.maidsone.gov.uk.
