27/03/08 Boys Football Development Centre - Maidstone

Maidstone United Football Club are launching a football development centre for boys.

The club will be hosting coaching sessions on Thursday evenings, starting 27 March, from 6-7.30pm at Cobdown Sports and Social Club at Ditton. Sessions are open to boys aged seven to 12 and cost £4 per person.

Football Association (FA) qualified football coaches will lead the sessions. They have been designed to provide all participants with a fun and informative coaching opportunity, which will help players improve their core football skills.

Youth Development Advisor Damian Matthew said: "This is an excellent opportunity for boys aged seven to 12 to learn or improve their football skills from FA qualified coaches. Talented players could join one of the Maidstone United youth teams and who knows, maybe they’ll progress right through to the first team.”

Maidstone United FC are developing an extensive community programme throughout the borough and beyond. The recently-launched girls’ development centre on Friday evenings at Aylesford School - Sports College has proved very popular.

For more information telephone Adrian Smith on 07801 023365 or email
mufcyouth@btinternet.com. The club’s community programme is available online at www.maidstoneunited.co.uk
