27/10/11 Golfers Swing Into Action - Tunbridge Wells
Golfers in the Tunbridge Wells area have gone a 'fair way' towards raising funds tosupport the elderly residents of Mount Ephraim House. More than £1,000 was raised when the Tunbridge Wells residential home organised a golf day at the Lamberhurst Golf Club. “We are always keen to meet not just the basic needs of our residents but also their wishes so we are asking them what we should spend the money on. Suggestions so far have included: a piano recital; extending WIFI coverage to the games room and library; another computer to use in the library; or more art materials for our recently opened art studio.” Mount Ephraim House is keen to ensure residents have a regular programme of activity. Recently they have enjoyed trips on a river boat and a steam train; had several entertainers visit the home and increased the frequency of computer lessons. Future plans include a rock n’ roll evening, a halloween event and a firework night party. The golf day was sponsored by: Alphabet Bags; Keep Calm Gallery; Printwells; The Care Shop; Henry Paul Funerals; Simply Unite Computer Systems; Aged Care Channel; The Black Pig at Hawkhurst; Barons Furniture; Imperial Chemist, Tunbridge Wells; Edify Training; Mr Gary Ward of Corrie Bauckham Batts Ltd; 2 Chaps Barbers, Battle; Oliver Greens of Rusthall; Roy and Penny Berry; Eye Concern of Tunbridge Wells; Potters Landscapes; and Fairs & Green. For more information on taking part in the event or becoming a sponsor, contact Marilyn Bridger on marilynab@ymail.com or 01892 520316.The next golf day has already been scheduled for Friday, October 12, 2012 at Lamberhurst Golf Club.
