Brogdale Horticultural Trust

Brogdale Horticultural Trust

Brogdale is home to the National Fruit Collections and is one of the largest collections of fruit varieties in the world. It is however far more than a living museum. Brogdale is a very real and living part of the Kent fruit industry.

The Trust sells and promotes fruit and welcomes visitors to the farm shop. A number of events are held on the site where you can choose from a vast range of local fruit and learn more about the subject. Yearly festivals include:

  • Summer Fruits Festival (18 19, 25 26 August in 2007)

  • Cider Festival (22 to 23 September in 2007)

  • Apple Festival (13 to 21 October in 2007)

  • Christmas Fayre (24 November to 02 December in 2007)

If you are looking for unusual, rare or traditional Kent fruit Brogdale is the place to visit. At different times during the year you can find up to 100 different types of apple, pears, soft fruits and much more. The Brogdale shop also stocks a wide range of fruit related gifts.

Fresh fruit is only available in season and if you want more information about what is available when contact the Trust direct.
