Organic Farm Organic Box Schemes - Organic Vegetables
Some of the benefits of buying your fruit and vegetables from a local organic farmer are:
The farm's own website holds much more information and an on-line order form. Ripple Farm is a small horticultural farm of 14 acres situated in the Stour Valley, Kent at Crundale between Ashford and Canterbury. The fields slope up to the bottom slopes of the North Downs, giving light, chalky soils. These free draining soils, blessed by the warmer climate of the South-East, produce vegetables of great taste and quality. Ripple Farm has been certified Organic since 1989 and holds an Organic Symbol from the Soil Association. The farm itself is essentially a market garden producing a wide range of vegetables, salad, herbs and some soft fruit. With this produce, Ripple Farm Organics runs a local box scheme and supports the Wye Farmer's Market ; supplies specialist organic shops in London on a weekly basis; supplies other box schemes and the wholesale trade. Ripple Farms Organic box scheme aims to provide its customers with a seasonal range of fresh, locally grown vegetables, salad and, occasionally fruit, each week. They grow 95% of their produce on the farm near Canterbury, and deliver to designated drop off points within a 20 mile radius. Customers can also collect direct from the farm.
